Not everyone who books a chiropractic appointment is in pain. Many people seek a chiropractic check-up to better understand their spinal health, address minor issues early, or maintain comfortable movement as part of an active lifestyle.
At Dr Matt Breeds Chiropractic in Miranda, our wellness and check-up appointments focus on assessment, education, and individualised care, helping you make informed decisions about your spinal and musculoskeletal health.

Who is a chiropractic check-up for?
A chiropractic check-up may be appropriate if you:
- Feel generally well but want your spine assessed
- Experience mild or occasional stiffness or discomfort
- Sit or work in one position for long periods
- Are physically active and want to move well long-term
- Have had previous back or neck issues and want reassurance
- Have been referred by a friend or family member
You do not need to be in significant pain to benefit from an assessment.
What happens during a check-up?
Your appointment is focused on understanding how your body is functioning, not just whether something hurts.
During your visit, we will:
- Take a detailed history of your health, lifestyle, and goals
- Discuss work, activity levels, and daily movement habits
- Perform a thorough musculoskeletal and neurological examination
- Assess posture, spinal movement, and muscle balance
- Identify any areas of restriction, tension, or reduced mobility
If appropriate, gentle treatment may be provided during the visit.
Allow up to 60 minutes.
Is treatment always required?
Not necessarily.
Some people attend a check-up simply for reassurance or education. If no treatment is required, this will be discussed openly.
If care is recommended, we will explain:
- What we’ve found
- Whether treatment is appropriate
- What options are available
- What results you can reasonably expect
There is no obligation to continue care beyond what feels right for you.
Wellness and ongoing care
For some people, periodic chiropractic care forms part of a broader approach to staying active, mobile, and comfortable over time.
If ongoing care is appropriate, we will outline a plan tailored to your needs and goals — whether that involves short-term care, occasional check-ups, or longer-term support.
Our approach is always guided by clinical findings and individual preference, not predetermined schedules.
When should I consider a check-up?
A chiropractic check-up may be helpful if:
- You want a better understanding of your spinal health
- You’ve noticed gradual changes in posture or mobility
- You want to address small issues before they escalate
- You value proactive, preventative health care
Early assessment often helps identify factors that may contribute to future discomfort.
