Mobile device use and your posture

Excessive Use of your mobile phone, laptop, or smart phone can lead to all sorts of postural pain syndromes.
When you sit for more than about 5 minutes at a time, you tend to slump over forwards. This puts extra pressure on your neck and shoulders, causing the muscles to tighten up, and can lead to headaches, neck pain, sore shoulders, rib sprains, having a “crick” in your neck and even jaw problems.
When using your mobile, use your arms and hold it it in front of you, instead of slumping over forwards.
Minimise the time you spend on these devices to improve your posture and decrease the incidence of head and neck pain.
If you are having any of these problems, come and get your neck and shoulders checked by your chiropractor, before it leads to something more serious.
